MHS/Stoughton Scrimmage

Sunday Scrimmage with Stoughton

 

On Sunday December 3, players from our Middleton High School Boys Lacrosse teams had a friendly scrimmage with boys from Stoughton High School at KEVA Sports Center.  Both sides played hard and gave coaches, spectators and each other a great afternoon of team lacrosse play.  Cheers to Stoughton for coming up. GO CARDS!

What: MHS Boys Indoor Lacrosse training

​When: Sundays, 3:30pm to 4:30pm, October 29 to December 17

Where: KEVA Sports (8312 Forsythia St., Middleton, WI 53562)

Who: MHS Lacrosse players (present and potential)

Cost: $30/player for all 8 weeks

Pay online through the FeePay system.  You MUST register your son if he has not played lacrosse at MHS yet.  Your son must also have an active membership with US Lacrosse.

New MHS Boys Lax Coaching Staff- WELCOME!!!
 

 

Sam Briggs

Assistant Coach, Middleton High School

Coach Briggs started playing lacrosse for the Stoughton Youth Lacrosse Club and continued through Stoughton High School, where he played attack.  After high school, he played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for five years.  During his final year at UW-Platteville, he was the club President and a Player/Coach.  Between semesters at college, Sam was able to be a volunteer coach for youth lacrosse teams.

 

 

 

David Utterback

Assistant Coach, Middleton High School

Coach Utterback began his lacrosse playing career with the Middleton Lacrosse Club in 7th Grade.  

He was a defensive long pole on the very first Middleton High School varsity lacrosse team.  Pictured above is Dave with his brother, who was a member of the very first MHS varsity coaching staff.  After high school, Coach Utterback went on the play for the University of Wisconsin Lacrosse Club, where he excelled as a face-off specialist.  After his playing career, Dave commited as a coach for the Middleton Youth Program for 4 years.

 

Bryce Packard

Assistant Coach, Middleton High School

Coach Packard first played lacrosse in 7th grade with the inaugural Middleton Youth Lacrosse Club team.  He continued his career as a 4-year Varsity long pole defender at Middleton High School.  After high school, Bryce went on to play college lacrosse at Division Two Indiana Tech.  While at I Tech, he was named All-Conference as a freshman midfield defender and his teams made the national tournament during his junior and senior years.  Upon competing his college career, Bryce was a coach for several youth programs, before working as a Head Coach with the Middleton Youth Lacrosse Club.

Welcome our new Head Coach - Sanford Erdahl

Coach Sanford Erdahl

MHS Athletic Director Bob Joers recently announced the hiring of Sanford Erdahl as the new Head Coach for the MHS Boys Lacrosse program.

 

Sanford was most recently an Assistant Coach/Defensive Coordinator with the Stoughton High School boys lacrosse program, a position that he held from 2011 until just recently.  During his time as a coach with Stoughton, he was named the Madison Area Lacrosse Association High School Boy's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2015.  He was also named the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation High School Boy's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2013.  During his tenure, Stoughton played in the Division 2 State Finals for three straight years (2014-2016).  

 

Sanford was also the High School Boy's Director for the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation from 2014 to 2016, where he ran coaching clinics and assisted in the development of new club programs throughout Wisconsin.  He is also the Head Coach and Administrator of the Saulty Dogs Lacrosse Team, a summer and fall team that he founded in 2013.

 

Coach "Ferd" and his wife Kimberly live in Madison.

 

Please take some time to welcome Sanford when you see him.  He will be introducing his coaching staff in the near future.
